A Curious Paleoichthyofauna

Two cartilaginous fishes who lived in the Brazil's Northeast, during the Permian: on the top is the eugenodontid Anisopleurodontis pricei, chasing ammonites; On the bottom, resting, is the petalodontid Itapyrodus punctatus.

Both are known only from teeth, so their appearances are based on related species whose bodies are known from fossil impressions.
